B-Money's Biography
Betty Bernice Lennox, daughter of Bernice Jefferies and AB Lennox was a blessing from above. Number eight in a line of nine children and the youngest girl in the family. Betty grew up under the hands of her single mother in Hugo, Oklahoma where Betty went to primary school and attended to the daily chores of the household with her other siblings. Here is where she learned how to be tough and to work hard.
Betty Lennox then moved on to the state of Missouri where she graduated from Fort Osage High School in Independence, Missouri. Upon graduation she went on to college and graduated with a degree from Louisiana Tech University. Betty left college and entered the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) draft, where she was selected by the Minnesota Lynx in 2000. That first year, Betty would win the honor of “Rookie of The Year” and be the first rookie to play in the all-star game. Betty has played in the WNBA for 10 years. In 2004, Betty and her Seattle Storm team won a WNBA championship. Betty was named the 2004 MVP (most valuable player) for the WNBA playoffs that year. Betty still continues to play in the WNBA with the Los Angeles Sparks, along with traveling the world playing on other teams in foreign countries.
Betty started the foundation called the Lennox Foundation 22, where she helps the needs of abused and neglected children. The only way that this life would be possible for Betty and what makes her who she is today, is to look at her shoes, for the scripture on her shoes tells it all (Philippians 4:13).
The Lennox Foundation 22 is a non-profit group with full federal 501(c)3 status. Our federal tax ID is #20-3056139. All donations are tax deductible, please consult your tax advisor.
